Zubair Torwali is a community researcher, human rights defender, and development practitioner with extensive experience in advocacy and research focused on the indigenous and mountain communities of North Pakistan. He is the co-founder and executive director of IBT, a nonprofit organization in Swat working on research, advocacy, and community empowerment, and he is a leading voice in the “Darya-e Swat Bachao Tehreek” (Save River Swat Movement) for the protection of the Swat River.

He has strong expertise in language documentation, cultural preservation, and socio-economic research, with contributions including Torwali language course books, dictionaries, translations, and academic and media work.

As a mentor, he offers guidance in community research & advocacy, language & cultural preservation, and human rights & social leadership.
