About Me

I am Dr Maryam Noreen. I hold a PhD degree in Comparative Religions from SBBWU. I have been serving the Department of Islamic and Oriental Studies, Women University on a contract basis since the year 2017 till present. I previously served as the managing editor of Fahm-i-Islam, run by Women University. It was recently that I was promoted to the position of editor of the same. Apart from being a lecturer, I am also a member of the Board of Studies of the department. Moreover, I am a member of the ethical review committee. Additionally, I am the PT member of the department responsible for compiling the SAR report of the department. During my professional career, I supervised two MPhil and fifteen BS students and conducted viva of five MPhil scholars.
I have attended and organised national and international conferences and workshops about my field. I have fourteen national and six international research articles published in notable research journals. I am also involved in a project, ‘Discovering KP Peace Heroes’, with the Peace and Education Foundation.
I have expertise in translating articles from English to the Urdu language and vice versa. I have well-developed skills in working with Microsoft Word and have great typing skills. Furthermore, I have full command of composing  in English, Urdu, and Arabic, in addition to editing and formatting. I have authored a book related to my field.
